Rahul Banerjee is co-founder and CEO of Singapore fintech BondbloX, which has created a platform for fractionalizing bonds. His clients are both institutional and retail investors.
Rahul speaks with DigFin‘s Jame DiBiasio about why innovating in bonds is difficult and how to bring value. He explains why institutions would use such a platform, given the other alternatives in the market, and how his partners used tokenization to make it easier for accessing this asset class.
Since BondbloX launched five years ago, tokenization has become a huge trend in fintech, notably around the use of stablecoins. Rahul talks about the opportunities this is creating, how BondbloX fits with these developments, and what needs to happen for digital bonds to go mainstream.
Finally he discusses the role of AI and puts it in the context of the past decade’s worth of fixed-income markets going electronic.
